Ain't no Mountain high

I think if someone were to make a mission approved movie list that Remember the Titans should be on there. Also Johnny Lingo.

Well in case you're wondering I'm alive I'm healthy and I'm still Eldering out here in Buenos Aires. The transfer just came to an end and Elder Andrews and I are staying together for another transfer

The weather here for the past 2 weeks has been fun. In comparison with my friends in other areas with earthquakes hurricanes etc it's nothing, but it's been a back and forth battle between rain and heat. Today it's raining and also hot, but I'm just grateful for being in a place where it has good weather for most of the year.

It's definitely been a struggle the past few weeks to get people to church... we keep finding people we think are soo ready but they have preconceived ideas about church and aren't willing to move forward with it. Our mission is extremely focused on church attendance, to the point that they counsel us to stop teaching someone after failing 2 commitments If one includes church not coming to church. It is pretty incredible though that once a person comes to church they are much more likely to then keep their other commitments, repent, and get baptized.

I have been studying King Benjamin's speech and I am always amazed at the amount of new things I learn no matter how many times I read it. The book of Mormon truly answers some of the greatest questions of the soul. For example... any parents ever asked what are the most important things I can teach my kids? Or what should I focus on as a parent?

Bueno, mosiah 1 6-8

6 O my sons, I would that ye should remember that these sayings are true, and also that these records are true. And behold, also the plates of Nephi, which contain the records and the sayings of our fathers from the time they left Jerusalem until now, and they are true; and we can know of their surety because we have them before our eyes.

7 And now, my sons, I would that ye should remember to search them diligently, that ye may profit thereby; and I would that ye should keep the commandments of God, that ye may prosper in the land according to the promises which the Lord made unto our fathers.

8 And many more things did king Benjamin teach his sons, which are not written in this book.

Well I took that as meaning that out of all things taught to his sons, those were the ones worth writing down. There are other occurrences of fathers giving teachings to their children in the bom that show other points of view along with the fact that all children are different and need different teaching.

Well that was something I studied this morning

For our last night with Elder Almonocid, a Chilean we lived with, I made gnocchi with a steak basil cream sauce. My cooking hobby has only gotten worse out here since Elders are all so food obsessed and always want me to cook. Doesn't help either that Argentine cuisine is mostly an offshoot of Italian and they have all the Italian ingredients needed for that type of cooking. Luckily I have still made healthy choices and I have not gained weight

Well I'll throw I'm some photos and ...

Happy birthday to my Grandpa Telford!

And to anyone else who had a birthday that I do not know about
