What are the costs associated with making a professionally-produced video?
The costs can vary depending on the scope and extent of the project. Our
rates are published on the PRODUCTION page and are generally $75-$150/hr depending on how many people are involved and what type of work is being done. For instance, in a video shoot, there may be a need for several cameramen and microphone work, etc., and this would entail higher cost. Before it is possible to determine the price and give you an accurate bid on a project, we need to know the length, format, location, talent, lighting, special equipment needs (jib, dolly, teleprompter, etc.), whether motion graphics are needed, DVD authoring, etc. We can make an estimate for you.

How long does the process take?
Generally a 30-second TV ad takes about a day to shoot and another day or two to edit to have ready for delivery. An extensive training course on DVDs may take several months to produce.

Can you tell us more about the processes involved in video production?
There are three parts to the video production process:
Pre-production, Production and Post-production.
Pre-production is planning-- Determine the message, who is the target audience, and what the goal. With budget considerations and other limitations in mind, the next step is to develop a script to achieve the goals. Once approved, ENOCH Media auditions talent, secures shooting locations, gathers special equipment and assembles the crew. We are now ready for the Production phase.

The Production phase, or videotaping and recording professional audio, is done by our professional team. For complex or large projects this usually includes the producer, director, camera operator(s), audio engineer, lighting technician, make-up artist, grip, gaffer, production assistant and more. The crew decides what camera equipment to use including, microphones, lighting, monitors, dolly track, jibs, tele-prompters, etc. It is difficult to set equipment up and is usually cost effective to try and get as much work done per day as is possible. ENOCH Media stores all video and audio information on high definition computer hard drives with backup.

The final phased is known as Post production. ENOCH Media imports and logs all source footage, digitizing into our MAC-based FCPX editing systems. It is during this stage that we not only cut/edit the footage to get the best clips flowing together, but also record voice-over narration, create motion graphics, add original or stock music and sound effects, and put it all together according to the approved script. We then make a master of the program in high definition HD 1080P format that can be used for a variety of purposes (DVD, Quicktime, Windows Media Files, AVI, MPG or any other format)

Do you prepare the storyboards and/or write the script?
ENOCH Media can prepare this information, but it is also fine if the client or another professional writer prepares a script. The script should be prepared after the preliminary story-boarding takes place. Story-boarding is where concepts are put to paper in frames containing possibly a sketch of the scene with accompanying descriptive text. Having a good script is critical to the success of any video project. ENOCH Media understands how the script impacts the entire production process. We can work with your experts in your business to develop the script, and we will understand the production processes relating to the script. Having an engineering background, ENOCH Media knows how to take complex ideas and information and make them easy to understand for the average viewer.

Does ENOCH Media film on location, or at a studio location?
ENOCH Media can shoot in our studio, on location, or wherever the project requires. We have camera, sound, and lighting facilities with green screen backdrop in our studio, and have portable crane, dolly, lights, tripods and steady cam equipment that is ready to roll on the road as well.

What are the pros and cons of using professional actors or not?
It is often desirable to use your own company’s employees, etc. to save on cost. However, if your project requires anyone to speak or act, it is recommended to use professional talent. To get the best results it is always best to use a professional voice over talent or on-screen actor.

How effective is it for the owner of our company to be the actual spokesperson in our video promotional material?
It is typically not very effective to those who do not know you already. There are a few exceptions where a business owner is also a great spokesman or actor, but this is rare.

Can ENOCH Media make a video in other languages?
Yes. Our company has access to various talent with native language skills in Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.

What is High Definition (HD) video and how does it affect me?
It is the latest high resolution state of the art format for TV and is equivalent to 35 mm film (movie theater quality). Many TV stations and networks have already made the change and are offering HD programming. Consumer demand for HD capable TV sets has been increasing, along with demand for HD DVD players (i.e. Blu Ray). Youtube and Vimeo web video is also increasingly being offered in HD format (1080P).

Can I observe what you do in the video edit?
Clients are always welcome in our studio to watch and observe the process, check in to see progress, etc.
